Road & Parking Closures

October 4, 2017

Dear Students,

This is a reminder that on Saturday, October 7, 2017 UT will be celebrating Homecoming with a parade beginning at 8am until approximately noon and a football game against Eastern Michigan beginning at noon until approximately 3:00pm.

We realize classes are ongoing during these times and we want to share information regarding parade logistics that will cause an alteration of travel to and from campus and parking lot closures. This information may assist as you may plan to travel to and from campus.

Game Day Lot and Road Closures:
Lots closed during all home games: Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 18 and 28. Road closures will begin at 9:00am on Stadium Drive and E. Rocket between the Douglas and Door Street entrances.

Parade Lineup & Lot Closures:
Lineup of the parade will begin between 6:30am and 7:00am. Parking lots 12 and 13 will close and will be used for the parade lineup. The West Parking Garage will be open for parking prior to 6:30am. Egress from this garage is contingent upon the completion and breakdown of the parade. Please note that individuals who plan to use the West Parking Garage will not be able to exit the garage until after the completion and breakdown of the parade. We do not know the exact time this area will reopen. Therefore, if you need to exit the area prior to noon please consider alternative parking.

Road Closures for Parade Lineup:
A number of roads will close for lineup of the parade. The following roads will close for the lineup and will re-open when the parade clears the area:

  • W. Rocket Drive at Lot 26
  • W. Towerview
  • Campus Drive

Road Closure for Parade:
Bancroft Street and additional roads in Old Orchard will close for the parade.

Recommended Parking:
The following lots recommended for parking: Lots 1N, 1S, 2, East Garage, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27.

We appreciate your patience, consideration and understanding in support of this festive day.  We hope this information will assist with your travel plans.
