Academic Counseling for the College of Medicine

The Academic Enrichment Center (AEC) provides academic counseling free of charge to all UT medical students. Students may seek academic counseling for various reasons. The goal of the AEC is to support all students as they adapt to the rigors of the medical curriculum. The AEC assists students with study skills, time management skills, USMLE test prep, life skills, and much more. Any current medical student may drop in or make an appointment with the academic counselor. No referrals are needed.

The academic counselor will monitor and review academic records and serve as a liaison with student affairs.

Study Strategies

The academic counselor will assist students in preparing for subject and comprehensive exams. The amount of material and pace of curriculum can present many challenges for medical students.
