Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

A 10-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is available in each track to undergraduate students who are interested in a biomedical research career.  Fellows work full-time on a biomedical research project alongside graduate students and learn a variety of techniques and procedures while receiving hands-on experience in biomedical research.  Fellows also participate in weekly seminars that cover topics related to scientific research and bioethics such as how to succeed in graduate school, grant writing, and the biotech industry.  Several social events also are included.  Each fellow will receive $3,500 for the 10-week, full-time research experience.
