BACK TO SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION HOME
The Spring 2018 applications are still open for BIOL 2150 with Dr. Leady (MW 5:45-7:35pm)

Responsibilities:
  • Attend all SI course lectures, take notes, read material, and act as a model student
  • Plan and facilitate 3 SI sessions each week
  • Maintain professional communication with course instructor
  • Attend all required training sessions and team meetings
  • Submit accurate attendance records, time sheets, and other paperwork every other week
Required Qualifications:
  • UT student (at least part-time) with at least a sophomore standing
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA (cumulative)
  • A or A- in the desired SI course or related courses with the same content
  • A desire to facilitate other students' learning
  • Outgoing, Personable, and Approachable
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tutoring or group studying
  • Past or Current SI attendee
Time Commitment:
  • Approximately 9-12 hours per week
  • One semester commitment; 2nd semester based on evaluation, need, and SI budget
Mandatory Training:
  • Attend training during the week before the semester begins
  • Attend Midterm team meeting
  • Formally observed 3 times throughout the semester
  • Meet with SI Coordinator regularly 
Starting Wage:
  • $11.00 per hour
