Dr. BRANDON SCOTT COHEN
Cohen joined the college in 2008 after gaining 15 years of legal and business experience
in the film industry, legal industry and personal entrepreneurial endeavors. He co-founded
GatewayDefender in 2001 which was an anti-spam, illicit content and virus detection
service that was rolled up into McAfee. That company won the Ohio Edison Start Up
of the Year Award in 2004. Cohen has worked on significant grants with the Department
of Energy and the National Science Foundation and raised over $15MM in start up capital
for several early stage technology companies. He is married with three boys and is
actively engaged in philanthropic activities in the region.
