Winter Break Hours

Participation in winter break is expected. However, UToledo's leadership recognizes that certain critical operations need to continue. Therefore, leaders who supervise employees in identified essential operations must track all hours these employees work during this break on the winter break hours tracking spreadsheet.

Employees eligible for winter break yet are required to work during winter break will be allotted hours equivalent to the hours worked on winter break days. These hours need to be used by June 30 of the following year or they will be forfeited. Leaders must use the winter break tracking spreadsheet to document all equivalent paid winter break hours used, indicating both the date and the number of hours used. Please follow the instructions provided.

Leaders supervising employees in hospital or patient care areas do not need to track hours worked by their employees during winter break on this spreadsheet; these employees are not eligible for the winter break.

If you have any questions about completing this spreadsheet or tracking hours, please contact your Human Resources Consultant.
