Full-Time Program

Our full-time J.D. program is both rigorous and comprehensive. Full-time students typically take 15 credit hours a semester and complete their course of study in three years (six semesters).

Part-Time Program

Toledo Law's part-time program allows working professionals and others the opportunity to earn a J.D. at their own pace. Part-time students typically take 16-18 credit hours over their first two semesters (8 or 9 credits per semester). Part-time students complete their course of study in four to five years, depending on whether they choose to take summer courses or not.

Evening students take a structured curriculum of required courses during their first two years and choose from a variety of upper-level courses during their remaining course of study. Courses are available four evenings a week, typically beginning at 6 PM and ending at 9:30 PM, but evening students often take late afternoon courses, too.

Students looking for a flexible, part-time day schedule should consult with our associate dean for academic affairs to construct an appropriate course of study.

Degree Requirements

Law students must complete 89 credit hours to earn a J.D. In addition to a variety of required courses, you may also select from a broad range of electives, including substantive law courses, legal clinics, simulation courses and field placements. Learn more by exploring our degree requirements.
