Celebrating the differences
Our department has long supported diversity and inclusivity on all levels, irrespective of ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, spirituality, personal beliefs, age, or national origin.
Our team functions as one big family, a truly cohesive unit, supporting each other and proud of everyone in the team.
Our residents come from all walks of life and have a various backgrounds. This is a positive trait we appreciate and strive to maintain. We don’t just accept the differences — we praise them, we advocate for them, and we believe that we prosper through building on the differences in personalities, backgrounds, and cultures.
Additionally our department supports many of the university's academic, resident, and student activities focused on inclusion and opportunity, including PEOPLE's Club in Medicine which represents the LGBTQI medical students at The University of Toledo.
Our support also extends to the departmental research efforts, where for the past four years, we have significantly focused on diversity, access to care, and wellness projects.
