Meet the Chair

Bruce A. Barnett, M.D.Dr. Bruce A. Barnett received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, in Jalisco Mexico. He completed his Pediatric residency at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He also completed a Pediatric Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at University of Chicago Wyler Children’s Hospital and Medical College of Ohio. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.

Dr. Barnett is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He currently serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital and Medical Director of Pierre Vauthy Cystic Fibrosis Center for Northwest Ohio. Dr. Barnett also serves as Chair of multiple committees at ProMedica/Toledo Hospital/Ebeid Children’s Hospital including Credentials, Peer, Advocacy Committee, Bylaws and Medical Executive Committee. He was also the first President of the Medical Staff at Toledo Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Barnett received a lifetime achievement award from the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He received multiple teaching awards from the Pediatric Residency Program including Attending of the Year and the Service of the Year Award. His research includes more than 80 research studies where he served as Primary Investigator or Sub Investigator. These studies include research on drugs for Asthma and Cystic Fibrosis, along with Quality of Life Studies and Safety Studies.
