Research and Teaching Interests
Before joining the faculty at the University of Toledo in 1988 he held positions at New York University, the University of Texas at Austin and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He studies atomic and molecular processes in space through a combination of ground- and space-based observations, modeling and laboratory experiments. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a Senior Member of the Optical Society of America.
