Dr. Mark A. Vonderembse earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo, an MBA in Management from The University of Pennsylvania in 1973, and a Ph.D. from The University of Michigan. He is currently Director of UT’s Intermodal Transportation Institute. He has published in academic and professional journals including Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, International Journal of Production Research, and Industrial Engineering Transactions.

He has served on the Board of Directors for Lott Industries, the local workshop for the developmentally disabled and the mentally retarded. Lott is a tier one supplier that provides parts to the final assembly line for Ford Motor on a just-in-time basis.
