Program Objectives

According to ABET, Inc., Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing graduates to achieve.

The program educational objectives of the Computer Science and Engineering Technology program will result in graduates that will:

Assume leadership roles in business and industry and make technical contributions to design, development, and manufacturing in their practice of computer science and engineering technology, computer networks and computer information systems.

Have a sufficient depth of understanding in computer science and the skills, confidence, professionalism, and experience necessary for successful careers in computer science and related fields.

Demonstrate professionalism and a sense of societal and ethical responsibility in all their endeavors.

Engage in professional development or post-graduate education to pursue flexible career paths adapting to future technological changes.

Program educational objectives normally identify such things as the fields of technical specialization, careers, job titles, and/or education paths for which the program is preparing graduates. The CSET program educational objectives listed above guide the program faculty in defining the knowledge and skills that graduates need in order to be successful in their chosen careers.
