Engineering Experience Day - Saturday, Nov. 22

Welcome! Experience Day is an exclusive, on-campus event for admitted College of Engineering students and a great way to see UToledo up close. Meet faculty, students, alumni, and current students; discover the labs, programs, and opportunities that will shape your engineering career.

What to expect

On Experience Day you’ll:

  • Tour engineering labs
  • Meet faculty and learn about your degree program, including the co-op program
  • Meet current students and talk about classwork, life on campus, and student organizations
  • Talk to our alumni about how UToledo engineering has launched their career
  • Get information about Next Steps

Tentative Agenda (subject to change) 

9 a.m. — Check-in
Location: Nitschke Auditorium lobby (coffee truck and light breakfast provided)

10 a.m. — College Welcome and Co-op Overview
Short presentation about the college, programs and co-op program.

10:30 a.m. — Program Overview / QandA
Learn about your degree program and meet department faculty

11 a.m. — Lab Tours (rotating groups)
Hands-on tours of mechanical, electrical, civil and computer engineering labs

11:30 a.m. – Student/alumni panels
Current students and alumni share their experiences (classes, co-op, campus life, career)

Noon — Lunch and Networking
Meet faculty, advisors and student orgs

1:30-2 p.m. —  Next Steps Workshop

2 p.m. – Engineering Program ends

  • Who: Admitted students to the UToledo College of Engineering (family and guests are invited to attend).

  • Deadline / capacity: Space is limited. Register early to reserve your spot.

Campus map and parking

  • Event building: Nitschke Auditorium (often abbreviated NA on campus maps). See the UToledo Main Campus map for building locations and parking zones
  • Recommended parking: Lot 20. You will need your license plate number at check-in to register your car.

If you’d like to explore the city, here are great, nearby options:

  • Toledo Museum of Art and Glass Pavilion — world-class collections and the Glass Pavilion are a short drive from campus. Open until 8 p.m.
  • Toledo Zoo and Aquarium — highly rated for families and guests of all ages. “Lights before Christmas” is open!
  • Imagination Station — hands-on science center (great for siblings and younger visitors). Open until 5 p.m.
  • The Ribbon – ice skating trail for the whole family, downtown Toledo at the Glass City Metropark.
  • Toledo Symphony – Angela Meade Sings Strauss, Beethoven, and Wagner, 8 p.m., at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle
  • Toledo Walley Hockey – at Huntington Center, 7:15 p.m.

  • Downtown and areas near campus offer casual restaurants and pizza

Parks and outdoor

  • Maumee Bay State Park (a short drive) for lakeshore views and walking trails.
