Students interested in state or local law enforcement careers are encouraged to pursue our accelerated police academy option, which offers a combined academic and applied approach for those seeking to protect and serve. Those who complete the accelerated police academy option earn 16 hours of upper level, criminal justice elective credit toward their Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Students also receive Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification, significantly improving employment opportunities with law enforcement agencies, both locally and statewide.  Students interested in this option must have a minimum of 75 credit hours completed as well as a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7.  If you are interested in the accelerated police academy option, please contact Professor Mick Dier or Dr. Goodlin-Fahncke.
