Susan M. Long, Ph.D., LPCC-S, CWC joined the UToledo Counselor Education faculty in 2020 as an Assistant Lecturer and Clinical Coordinator. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education, M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and her B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Counseling from the University of Toledo. Dr. Long is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation and a Certified Wellness Counselor in Ohio. She is also nationally certified as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Her clinical experiences include counseling children, adolescents, and adults presenting with trauma and a wide range of other mental health concerns. She has worked in various clinical settings including nonprofit mental health agencies, private practice, and a college counseling center. Dr. Long’s areas of expertise and interest include wellness counseling, neuroeducation, trauma-focused modalities, and qualitative research methods. She is published in the Journal of Mental Health Counseling and has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed articles and a number of book chapters. She can be reached at susan.long@utoledo.edu
