National Coming Out Day Meeting with SAGA

Monday, October 5th: 7:00pm

National Coming Out Day Meeting, share your own testimonials and listen to others. T-shirt design competition ends, winner will be announced and top 3 designs get a gift card. Winning design will be put on T-shirts for all org members. Halloween costume design competition starts. 

SUITED FILM Viewing  

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7TH: 5:30PM-7:00PM 

Join us to watch Suited, the story of a trans man who could not find a suit that properly fit him. Eventually, he goes to a tailor where he helps the tailor and creates his own business for professional attire for the LGBTQA+ community.

NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11TH 

This is a national day where coming out as a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender is celebrated. We are excited for the unveiling of the 2020 OUT Rockets poster! 

LGBTQA+ SUPPORT GROUP 

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 14TH: 5:00-6:00 PM 

Needing support during this time of transition, change and needing to stay connected virtually? Join the Counseling Center for a virtual support group for LGBTQA+ students on different discussion topics. Substance abuse will also be discussed as the LGBTQA population for substance use is higher than the general population.

Join us as we have a fun and engaging evening to learn about LGBTQ history and culture! Prizes for our winner!

INTERNATIONAL PRONOUNs DAY 

WenesDAY, OCTOBER 21st  

This day is recognized to help educate others about what the terms mean and how important it is to identify others the way that they would like to be identified. Visit OMSS to pick up a pronoun button!

Diversity Career Connections: LGBTQA+ PROFESSIONAL PANEL  

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29TH: 6PM 

Join us to hear about the experiences of out LGBTQA+ professionals. Learn more about LGBTQA+ professional associations and organizations. Come prepared for a Q&A with the panelists! The first 20 people to RSVP and attend will receive a free OMSS padfolio!

LGBTQA+ History in the Smithsonian Museum

The Smithsonian Museum has added LGBTQA+ history finding that some objects beforehand were connected to the LGBTQA+ community. Resources for archival collections and new releases of LGBTQA+ collections.
