Nursing MSN Graduate Entry Master's Degree Overview

Do you want to become a registered nurse, but your undergraduate degree is in a different area of study? No problem.

The University of Toledo’s master’s degree track is designed specifically for students with non-nursing bachelor’s degrees. We have had students with degrees in biology, engineering and music enroll in our M.S.N. graduate entry track.

UToledo’s two-year, five-semester track allows you to earn your master of science in nursing degree while qualifying to sit for the registered nurse national council licensure (NCLEX-RN) exam.

Nursing MSN Graduate Entry Master's Degree Highlights

Graduate certificates. Expand your scope of practice and earn a graduate certificate in a specialty area in three-to-five additional semesters upon program completion. UToledo prepares you to sit for the certification exam. Specializations include:

That's why students from 12 health-care professional programs — including the M.S.N. Graduate Entry track — participate in UToledo’s interprofessional education (IPE) program. Students work together and learn from, with and about each other.

Service projects and mission trips. Help communities while gaining hands-on experience. M.S.N. Graduate Entry students have:

  • Traveled to remote areas in Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras to provide health care and health promotion to more than 5,000 people.
