Dr. Ames is an Assistant Professor of Occupational & Public Health in the School of Population Health. She is certified industrial hygienist (CIH) with past experience in environmental and occupational health science. She conducts research in human health exposure related to chemical and physical agents and the use of GIS in public/environmental health applications. Current research interests are focused on recreational and occupational effects related to Harmful Algal Blooms in the western basin of Lake Erie and chemical exposure assessment.  She is a graduate-level  instructor in Occupational and Public Health Courses (Chemical Agents, Risk Assessment, Environmental Health, Biostatistics, Physical Agents, Hazard Control, and Occupational Health).
