Kevin Ring brings more than 20 years of conservative public policy, campaign, and
issue advocacy experience to Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM). He began
his career in Washington, DC as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill where he actually
drafted mandatory minimum legislation. During his tenure, Ring served as counsel to
the Senate Judiciary’s Constitution, Federalism, and Property Rights Subcommittee
under the leadership of future U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. He later worked
as a federal lobbyist and was convicted of public corruption charges as part of the
Abramoff lobbying scandal. Ring served a 20-month prison sentence in 2014 and 2015
and became the president of FAMM in 2017. He will be speaking about the consequences
of mandatory minimum sentencing laws and FAMM’s fight to eliminate them.
Free and open to all. Pizza will be served.
