Prof. Beth Eisler receives University's Outstanding Teaching Award

EislerBeth A. Eisler, former professor of law who passed away on Dec. 31, 2012, has been honored posthumously with an Outstanding Teaching Award by The University of Toledo.

“I am very pleased that Beth Eisler’s remarkable contributions in the classroom have been recognized with this award,” said Daniel J. Steinbock, dean of the College of Law. “During her illness Professor Eisler received hundreds of emails from students who had benefited from her talents as a teacher.”

For 26 years Eisler taught in the College of Law, mostly in the fields of contracts and evidence. She served as associate dean for academic affairs from 1993 to 1995 and from 1999 to 2005, and as interim dean from 2005 to 2006.

Devoted to and greatly admired by her students, Eisler received the Outstanding Professor Award from the College of Law graduating class on three separate occasions. She also received the University’s Student Impact Award in 2011 and 2012.

Eisler was one of seven professors recognized with an Outstanding Teaching Award by the University this year.
