Writing Center

The Writing Center will continue to provide online tutoring. You’ll need to set up an account using your Rocket email to schedule an appointment. You can find step-by-step instructions for creating an account on the Writing Center page. Once you’ve done that, click here to schedule an Online or eTutoring appointment with the Writing Center.

Tutoring

The Learning Enhancement Center will continue to offer tutoring services via an eTutor online platform. All UToledo students have access to eTutor and can create an account from the eTutoring website linked on the LEC page. Take a look at this guide to discover how best to use LEC resources while learning remotely.

For instructions on Supplemental Instruction (SI) from the LEC, review the information on this page. Currently, SI leaders and faculty will deliver instructions through online sessions with Blackboard Collaborate. These sessions will continue on the same days and times determined by the students in each class and will be recorded so students unable to attend live sessions will have an opportunity to participate.

CAREER SERVICES

Although you’ll be taking classes remotely for the remainder of the semester. UToledo remains dedicated to your career success. Career Services can still assist you with career exploration, resumes, cover letters, mock interviews and job searches. The Virtual Career Center is available 24/7 via the myUT portal under the University Career Services heading. You may also participate in a remote staff consultation via phone, email, Zoom or WebEx.

To schedule a remote appointment, email careerserviecs@utoledo.edu or self-schedule your appointment via Handshake. We’re especially encouraging  graduates to contact Career Services for help with post-graduation employment.

Library Services

For the rest of the spring semester, libraries at The University of Toledo are closed. All overdue book fines will be waived.

Services such as book delivery by interlibrary loan and OhioLINK will be suspended. However, access to the University’s electronic collections will still be available; connect to our extensive selection of digital titles via UTMOST Discovery or browse our fully online journals.

Chat, phone and email reference services will be active as well.

The University of Toledo's LaValley Law Library is also closed, but law librarians are still available for UToledo students, faculty and staff via email at lavalleylaw@utoledo.edu. Required West and Foundation Press eCasebooks will also remain available for online access. Call 877.888.1330 to get set up. Online access is complimentary through the end of the spring semester. The law library will not enforce due dates on checked out materials as long as law classes are online. If you currently have books checked out, email Christie Lowry, legal reference librarian, at christina.lowry@utoledo.edu to change your due dates.

Student Disability Services

Student Disability Services (SDS) works with students with various disabilities which include mental health conditions, chronic health conditions, learning disabilities, sensory and mobility impairments and temporary medical conditions.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, you may find that disability accommodations may be necessary to support your participation in the remote learning experience. The transition to remote learning may also change the type of access and accommodations you may need. Please connect with SDS by emailing studentdisability@utoledo.edu or by calling 419.530.4981. More information is available at the Student Disability Services website.
