Level Up FAQ

Is there a deadline to apply to Level Up?

No.  You can apply at any time.  Now is always the right time to Level Up your skills and mindset.  The earlier you apply, the more complete your assessment will be.  Assessments that have too much incomplete will not be eligible for badges that first semester.

What will my first semester assessment look like?

Your first semester's assessment will vary based on when you applied to Level Up.  Joining Level Up after the College Job Fair, ESSPS Networking Night, or student organizations have completed projects (fund raising, recruitment, etc), means there is less opportunity for you to be aware of Level Up metrics and any needed metric verification documentation.  Examples: There is no way to assess you on Extra Curriculars if you did not have sales related tasks for a project.  There is no streamlined way to know that you spoke with certain companies onsite at the College Job Fair if you did not use the Level Up Networking Interaction Sign-off

The Add/Drop deadline has passed, and I am totally planning on being a professional sales major/minor.  Can I still join Level Up?

Yes!  Please be sure to complete the major declaration form or minor declaration form now so that you are added as a professional sales major/minor for the following semester.

How do Level Up assessors know that I went to events, talked to companies, worked on student organization projects, etc?

Attendance is taken at College of Business and ESSPS events.  ESSPS events have tracking already in place to know who is talking to who in most cases, and a Level Up Networking Interaction Sign-off needs to be used for events that have open networking components.  Level Up Networking Interaction Sign-offs are available in the Level Up SharePoint site, and some copies will be available for pickup by finding an ESSPS faculty/staff at the College of Business Job Fair or going to the check-in table at ESSPS events.

Student organization leaders (typically the Admin VP) are contacted to verify that Level Up students are in their organization and that the member was a part of a project, had a sales related task, and did well with that sales related task.

Interview cycles, job shadowing, and informational interviews are validated by forwarding emails that show schedule confirmations and follow-up thank yous.  If handwritten thank you notes are being used, please take/send a picture of the note and addressed & stamped envelope.

What are the coaching resources I have access to in Level Up?

Exclusive live webinars and workshops

Recordings of exclusive and public webinars and workshops

On-demand guides, worksheets, articles, templates, videos, and a resource list of outside books, websites, and other content

Live 1-1 coaching with specialist coaches that can be done on campus or via web meeting or phone

A network of like minded peers who are focused on continuous improvement

Do I have to use all the resources from Level Up?

No.  You can use whichever resources you think would be best to help you based on your goals and the area(s) you are looking to improve.  Specialist coaches and assessors will make recommendations at times, and we do hope that you will follow-up on using those resources.

Why does the boost for double majoring and the major/minor combination have a range?

Some combinations are more challenging because the areas of expertise are more diverse.  Examples: An engineering major who is minoring in professional sales is more diverse than a business management major who is minoring in professional sales.  A finance and professional sales double major is more diverse than a marketing and professional sales double major.
