Temporary Protected Status (TPS):
Nepal, Information Session scheduled for July 10

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS) will be hosting an information session this FRIDAY, JULY 10TH FROM 2-4 PM IN SNYDER MEMORIAL ROOM 1350 to discuss The Department of Homeland Security’s recent decision to designate Nepal for Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

The presentation will be designed and tailored for UT Nepalese students (and their dependents) who are considering applying for TPS. Topics of discussion will include: The benefits of applying for TPS; eligibility requirements; and how to apply. A lengthy Q&A will be held for students to ask specific questions about how TPS may affect their current and future nonimmigrant status in the United States.

The presentation will be led by Dayna Boes, Immigration Coordinator and Peter Thomas, Associate Director in the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS).

Those interested in attending should RSVP here, by Thursday July 9th. OISSS encourages attendees to indicate specific questions on the RSVP form to ensure that the presentation is tailored to its audience.

As a courtesy service, OISSS staff will provide support and resources to students wishing to apply for TPS, and will also offer the passport photo service free of charge to those that apply.
