Judith Herb College of Education

A message from the Dean

Dear Judith Herb College of Education Alum,

I hope this letter finds you well and safe. The news on flattening the curve in Ohio and the nation is encouraging and with your continued efforts we will be able to significantly reduce the devastating effects of the COVID-19 virus. During this time, it is essential we stay connected and supportive of each other. In particular, the lives of our students have been dramatically altered in ways never anticipated. I have students in class who have experienced personal loss of loved ones, mental health challenges, job loss, food insecurity, as well as daily access problems with internet and computer challenges. These challenges will continue for the foreseeable future.

Due to the variety of challenges that our students currently face, The University of Toledo is encouraging donations to the Rocket-to-Rocket Fund or the UToledo Student Food Pantry Fund : COVID-19 Student Emergency Support.

Information and updates on the COVID-19 virus can be found on the University website as well as the Judith Herb College of Education website. It is vital you stay informed at this time. As you know, educators are adaptable and always finds ways to reach out, serve, and inspire others. We are all learning something about ourselves during this challenging time. We are showing the best side of ourselves; the personal grace and compassionate care associated with great educators.

Thank you for everything you do and Go Rockets! Take care and stay well,
