Engineering Accreditation - Information Technology

Our Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org.

 

Program Educational Objectives:

The program educational objectives of the Information Technology program will produce graduates that will:

  1. Obtain positions as information technology professionals in various industries and government agencies that are involved in the creation, maintenance, and use of computers, computer networks, and computer information systems.
  2. Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills that will enable them to be successful professionals.
  3. Function effectively in a professional environment.
  4. Continue their studies in IT-related graduate programs to enable their careers in information technology.

Student Outcomes:

Students in the Information Technology program will attain the following student outcomes by the time of graduation:

  1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. Design, implement and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program's discipline.
  3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
  5.  Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program's disciplines.
