New graduate student welcome and orientation

The College of Engineering New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:30am in the Brady Center for all graduate students beginning their programs of study during the summer or fall 2021 semesters. Please join us for lunch and orientation to meet current graduate students, department chairs, graduate program directors and staff, special guests, and tour the College of Engineering complex. You will also have an opportunity to take a campus walking tour if you are new to UToledo’s campus. 

Additional orientation sessions and training are also required for new UToledo graduate students, depending on program of study and assigned duties. Details are below.

All new graduate students:

  • College of Graduate Studies (COGS) mandatory online orientation ( for new graduate students.  Please complete before the COE orientation on 8/24.

All new international students:

For students awarded graduate or teaching assistantship funding:

  • Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering – Tuesday, August 24, 9:00am - 10:00am, BIOE Conference Room (NI 5048)
  • Chemical Engineering – Thursday, August 26, 1:00pm - 2:30pm, CHEE Conference Room (NI 3005)
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering – Wednesday, August 25, 2:00pm - 3:00pm C&EE Conference Room (NI 3004)
  • Electrical Engineering and Computer Science – Wednesday, August 25, 10:00am -11:30am, SSOE seminar room (NI 1027)
  • Mechanical and Industrial Engineering  – Tuesday, August 24, 3:15pm - 5:15pm, MIME Conference Room (NI 4020)
