General Nomination Rules:
- Students must be full-time, currently enrolled students at The University of Toledo
- Any student who has won an award will not be eligible to win the same award the following
year.
- Students may be nominated for as many categories as are available, but will only be
eligible to win one award for the year.
- Students may be nominated by others or may choose to self-nominate.
- Students must be in good academic and judicial standing to win awards. The Office of the Dean of Students will perform grade and conduct checks to ensure
each student is in good standing.

Outstanding Student Organization (1st, 2nd & 3rd place) $
|
This award recognizes the most exceptional organizations over the past year. The organizations
will be selected based on their goal setting strategies, event success, leadership
development of members, collaboration with other organizations, and overall contribution
to University and/or Toledo community. This award will be presented to the top 3 organizations.
(1st place - $300, 2nd place - $200, 3rd place - $100)

Outstanding New Student Organization $
|
The award recognizes the most successful new student organization (formed within the
last two years). The organization will be selected based on its development, leadership
development of members, ability to overcome obstacles, and contribution to University
and/or community. ($150 award)

Most Supportive Student Organization $
|
This award recognizes an organization that goes above and beyond to support other
student organizations on UT's campus. This support is demonstrated by any of the following:
supporting organization events through collaboration, attendance or promotion, being
a resource for other organizations in any capacity, acting as an advocate for all
student organizations on campus, etc. ($150 award)

Outstanding Overall Program/Event
|
The award recognizes the student organization which displayed the most successful
program/event/initiative overall during the past year. The organization will be selected
based on the overall uniqueness of the program, as well as the organization’s technique,
creativity, marketing, and implementation strategies.

Outstanding Multicultural Program
|
This award recognizes the student organization program which exhibited the most successful
multicultural effort during the past year. The recipient of this award will have incorporated
diversity, equity and inclusion in its program and will be selected based on overall
impact on the community, implementation technique, and participation.
|
Outstanding Service Program
|
This award recognizes the student organization or program which exhibited the most
successful service or philanthropic effort during the past year. The recipient of
this award will have incorporated service to the University, Toledo community and/or
a charitable organization, and will be selected based on overall impact on the community,
implementation technique, and participation.

Outstanding Collaborative Program |
The Collaboration Award is presented to a student organization, or two or more partnering
student organizations, that collaborated to develop a program, event, or initiative
that benefited the campus and/or community. This can be a single or ongoing program,
event, or initiative. |
Student Organization Advisor of the Year (Faculty/Staff) $ |
This award is given to a UT faculty or staff student organization advisor who has
gone above and beyond their responsibilities for the sake of the organization and
its student members. The advisor must demonstrate the following qualities: a strong
working relationship with the organization’s members; active participation in the
organization’s activities; being approachable and accessible to the organization;
being attentive to the needs and issues of the organization and its members. ($250
award to organization) |
Student Organization Advisor of the Year (Volunteer/Community Member) $ |
This award is given to a student organization advisor who is not a staff or faculty
member of The University of Toledo and has gone above and beyond their responsibilities
for the sake of the organization and its student members. The advisor must demonstrate
the following qualities: a strong working relationship with the organization’s members;
active participation in the organization’s activities; being approachable and accessible
to the organization; being attentive to the needs and issues of the organization and
its members. ($250 award to organization) |
Outstanding Student Leader |
This award is presented to a student who exhibits exemplary leadership skills throughout
the campus community. The student must be a senior graduating in May or December. The criteria for selection include quality of leadership, mutual respect among peers,
dedication to the improvement of campus life, and the ability to promote leadership
development at The University of Toledo.

Emerging Leader |
This award recognizes two freshman or sophomores who have excelled in their organization
and have demonstrated true leadership qualities. The selection of the award will be
based on their involvement in campus activities, leadership initiatives, school pride
and overall contributions to their student organization or program. |
Outstanding Student Organization Member |
This award recognizes a student who has made significant contributions to a student
organization, without necessarily holding a leadership position within the organization.
The individual will be selected based on contribution to the organization and the
role of that organization in his or her life today.

Rocket Fanatic |
This award recognizes an individual who demonstrates true Rocket spirit through his
or her “fanatic” activities at The University of Toledo sponsored events. The individual
will be selected based on his or her personal qualities, school spirited activities,
efforts to improve the quality of campus life, and overall love for and dedication
to The University of Toledo.

Commitment to Service Award |
This award recognizes an individual who has maintained academic excellence while committing
their time, energy, and resources to making a difference by volunteering in the community. The
individual demonstrates a passion to serve others in all that they do.
|
Advocate Award |
The Advocate Award recognizes a student who advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion
at The University of Toledo. This student displays courage and conviction in facing
issues that challenge injustice and, through their efforts, have a positive impact
at UT. |
Community Spotlight Award |
The Community Spotlight Award recognizes a student who has made a significant impact
on one or more non-profit community organizations serving the diversified community
which makes up Toledo and the surrounding area. |
Excel Award |
The Excel Award recognizes a student who has achieved academic excellence (cumulative
grade point average of 3.5) and contributed significantly to the out of classroom
experience. This person serves as a role model for students seeking a balance between
academic and co-curricular success. |
Defying the Odds Award |
The Defying the Odds Award recognizes a student who has achieved academic and personal
success despite tremendous obstacles such as financial hardship, lack of or few positive
role models, and outside circumstances not conducive to furthering their education.
This student demonstrates outstanding loyalty and commitment to The University of
Toledo through exemplary service to this institution. |
