Vision

The vision of the Health Equity Research Center is to advance health equity through an organized program of interdisciplinary public health, social science, and policy-based research activities. We envision using our expertise to study health inequities and to develop interventions that improve health equity. Our collaboration aims to create an interdisciplinary synergy, bringing new innovative methodological approaches and intervention strategies to addressing current and upcoming population health challenges.

Dr. Andrew Geers

Dr. Andrew Geers is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Toledo. He is interested in improving health care and medical treatments using psychology theory and behavioral science methodologies. His primary research interests are in the areas of health behavior, treatment outcomes, placebo effects, side effects, and emotion. He received his BA from the University of Cincinnati and his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Ohio University.
