Criminal Justice Program

Undergraduate Criminal Justice Programs

The Criminal Justice program was established in 1976 at The University of Toledo.  It was designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about crime, offenders, victims, policing, criminal investigation, law, social justice, corrections, current policies, and other criminal justice issues through teaching and service. 

Students who complete an undergraduate degree in criminal justice at The University of Toledo are prepared to work in a variety of fields within the criminal justice system, including but not limited to, law enforcement, corrections and community service.  Some graduates also go further for a law degree and/or masters in criminal justice. 

Students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice at The University of Toledo online, live or in a hybrid format.  The Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice requires a minimum of 120 hours to be completed.  For specific degree requirements, please click here.  The Criminal Justice program at The University of Toledo also includes undergraduate minors in criminal justice and in forensic science investigation. Admission:
To be admitted to the Criminal Justice Program, direct-from-high-school students need a minimum cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.50, ACT of 19 or SAT of 910. Students not qualifying for admission to the Criminal Justice Program will be admitted through the University of Toledo's University College.  Students who transfer into the College of Health and Human Services/Criminal Justice Program must earn 12 hours of college-level work with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.2.  To apply, please click here
