Shipra Singh is an Associate Professor of Health Education and Public Health at the School of Population Health, College of Health and Human Services at the University of Toledo.  She is also faculty at the School for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (IPE) at University of Toledo Medical campus that engages in interprofessional learning and educational experiences for health science students.  She holds an MPH and PhD in Public Health from the University of Michigan.  She completed her medical school education in India, and did her Medical Externship at S.I.U. School of Medicine, Springfield, Illinois.

Current research efforts focus on understanding health disparities and social determinants of health in urban/rural communities and in the healthcare system, and examine the contributions of these social and environmental factors to racial and socioeconomic inequities in mental disorders.  She is co-Investigator for the Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program-Health Care Access (MEDTAPP-HCA) Initiative, grant designed to recruit and train healthcare professionals to better serve the needs of Ohio's Medicaid population. 

In addition, Dr. Singh is the co-founder and Associate Director of the Health Disparities Research Collaborate (HDRC) that promotes engagement of students and faculty in innovative translational research to reduce health disparities, improves health equity, and creates opportunities for social justice.
