Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

D.P.T./Ph.D. Degree

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is proud to offer a D.P.T./Ph.D. track that enables students to pursue clinical (D.P.T.) and academic (Ph.D.) doctoral degrees. The Ph.D. is in Exercise Science with an emphasis on research.

The University of Toledo is one of several programs in the country to offer such a collaboration in which D.P.T. academic credit can contribute, in part, to the fulfillment of a Ph.D. After successful completion of the first year of the D.P.T. curriculum, a qualified D.P.T. student may apply for acceptance into the combined D.P.T./Ph.D. track.
