Toledo Law Named a "Best" Law School by The Princeton Review

The University of Toledo College of Law was selected once again as one of the nation's most outstanding law schools, according to The Princeton Review.

Toledo Law is rated #1 in the publication's 165 Best Law Schools for most accessible professors among Ohio and Michigan law schools, tied for #1 in Indiana, and tied for #3 nationally.

The Princeton Review surveyed 17,700 students attending law school about their school's academics, student body, and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans. The student surveys were collected during the 2017-18, 2016-17, and 2015-16 academic years. The Princeton Review does not rank law schools on an overall basis. Many law schools throughout the country did not make the list.

Toledo Law scored 97 in the "Professors Accessible" category, which is based on how students rate the accessibility of law school faculty. The ratings are based on institutional data collected by The Princeton Review during the 2017-18 academic year and/or its student survey. The ratings are scored on a scale of 60 to 99.

“Every aspect of the school strikes the perfect balance between professionalism and personal attention," said a surveyed student. Students also spoke overwhelmingly of the school’s obvious care and concern for their future, and the faculty’s “willingness to sit and chat with students about class at any time, while connecting what we learn to real-life use.”

"What makes Toledo Law special is that faculty members are deeply involved in their students' learning and professional development from day one," said Geoffrey Rapp, associate dean for academic affairs and Harold A. Anderson Professor of Law and Values. "Our faculty get to know our students - where they are from, where they want to be, and what kind of law they aspire to practice. This puts them in a position to provide support to help students reach their goals."

The Princeton Review was founded in 1981 and provides college admission services including test preparation, tutoring, admissions resources, online courses, and books.
