Access to the libraries over Winter Break? Carlson - No

Mulford - Yes
Carlson Library is closed to the public over Winter Intersession Break from  Dec. 5 through Jan. 18. Curbside is available for item pickup.

Mulford Library will be only closed Dec. 19 - Jan. 3.
Access to the libraries during the semester? Yes The University Libraries are open during regular semester. Spring semester begins Tuesday, January 19th. Up to date hours for all our locations can be found on our hours page.
Check-out of physical items? Yes We suggest placing holds on items through the library catalog and picking them up at the Circulation desk the next business day.
Curbside Service? Yes During Spring semester, curbside is available Friday 10:00am - 2:00pm. by appointment only at Carlson Library. Appointments can be scheduled using the pickup appointment form.

Winter Intersession Break Update

Carlson Library will maintain regular semester hours through exam week and then will be closed Saturday, December 5th until spring semester begins with curbside pickup and remote services available.

Library services and materials will continue to be accessible remotely and the book drop at Carlson Library’s south entrance will be available for returns.

Curbside pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Carlson Library. Students enrolled in spring courses, staff and faculty can place holds on all available materials, including OhioLINK and Interlibrary Loan, and when items are ready for pickup, they will receive an email to schedule pickup on the curbside website. This service will not be available from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Sunday, Jan. 3.

Reference services will be available by appointment through Webex by contacting a subject librarian directly or using the contact information on the Ask a Librarian website.

Mulford Library on Health Science Campus will remain open for regular semester hours during exam week and over the semester break with the exception of Dec. 19 - Jan. 3.

Library services will not be available during winter break, Thursday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 3.


Spring Semester Update

Mulford Library and Carlson Library will be open during the Fall and Spring semesters, with a variety of changes put in place to enable social distancing. Computer stations, printing and copying stations, seating areas and study tables have been rearranged. Group study rooms at Carlson Library will be temporarily unavailable. Small study rooms at Mulford Library will be limited to one patron at a time. Conference rooms at both libraries are not available. Visitors will be asked to clean areas they have used with provided sanitation supplies prior to leaving the library.

University Libraries will be lending normal circulating materials for fall semester. All returned materials will be heat treated or placed in quarantine for three days prior to being released. The libraries will not be lending items such as calculators, headphones, phone chargers and whiteboard markers.  Reference services will continue to be provided via chat, email and phone. Some in-person reference services will be available by appointment. Carlson Library will continue to offer curbside pickup for at risk or off-campus patrons on Friday from 10:00am - 2:00pm by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled using the pickup appointment form.
