Cardiac Imaging - Echocardiology

Mission Statement

To provide patients with latest technologies in echocardiology for a complete and comprehensive non-invasive cardiac evaluation.

Echocardiology Services

Intra-operative surgical consultations
Cardiac risk factor stratification

Echocardiology Procedures

Trans-thoracic echocardiography:

  • Evaluating systolic function and wall motion with 2-dimensional echo and ejection fraction and left ventricle volumes with acoustic quantification
  • Evaluating diastolic function with Mitral inflow and pulmonary veins Doppler, color M- Mode and tissue Doppler imaging
  • Evaluating valvular diseases and mitral valve prolapse: including quantification of valvular regurgitation assessing the severity and stenosis, and calculating valve area
  • Evaluating pericardial disease and pericardial effusion
  • Assessment of pulmonary pressure

Transesophageal echocardiography:

  • Echo evaluation to rule out atrial thrombus before A. fib cardioversion
    Endocarditis evaluation
  • Aortic disease evaluation: including aneurysms and dissection
  • Stroke patient evaluation for a potential cardiac embolic source: including assessing aortic atherosclerosis burden , cardiac chamber thrombus, atrial septal aneurysm/ PFO.

Stress Echocardiography:

  • Dobutamine stress echocardiography
  • Treadmill stress echocardiography
  • Dobutamine echo to evaluate hibernating myocardium.
