University Research Funding Opportunities (URFO) Programs

All URFO applications must be submitted through InfoEd. See this simple guide on creating your URFO proposal in InfoEd

To be eligible, the PI must be a full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty member at UToledo and must be on campus during the full academic year of the award. Faculty on 12-month appointments are eligible for the Research Awards and Fellowship Program but cannot receive salary support.
Archaeological Research endowment fund

Provides up to $2,000 (determined each year offered) to offset the cost of archaeological research. More Info. This program may not be offered every year.

dearce-koch memorial endowment fund in support of medical research & development

Provides up to $25,000 for medical research and development projects. More Info.

interdisciplinary research initiation award program

Provides up to $50,000 to support groups of at least four faculty from at least two academic departments in beginning a major new interdisciplinary research project. More Info.

publication subvention program

Provides up to $1,700 to support to publication of a scholarly manuscript by an academic press. More Info.

research awards & fellowships program

Provides up to $20,000 for summer research projects. More Info.

research innovation program

Provides up to $50,000 for high-impact, innovation STEM or biomedical research proposals that have the potential to change the direction of a particular area of study. More Info.

small awards program

Provides one grant of up to $1,000 per academic year to support research and scholarship activities. More Info.
