Multicultural Orientation & Resources for Excellence (M.O.R.E.) Institute

From Day One to Graduation Day — we’re here for you!

Sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, the M.O.R.E. Institute is a free program for first-year students from multicultural backgrounds as well as their parents/guardians.

The M.O.R.E. Institute is an early arrival program designed to assist students and families from underrepresented backgrounds make the academic, social and cultural transition from high school to college.

The M.O.R.E. Institute is open to students who have:
       - Been admitted into the University of Toledo the fall semester of each academic year
       - Registered for the New Student Orientation program
       - Paid their enrollment/housing deposit*
       - Completed a FAFSA

* Applies only to students who will be living on campus 

The M.O.R.E. Institute offers:

  • Help with making a successful transition from high school to college
  • Support that starts on the first day of classes and continues all the way to graduation
  • Academic and social programs that get and keep you connected with UT!
  • Enrichment opportunities with student organizations, peers, campus and community leaders
  • Opportunities to develop your own leadership potential

The M.O.R.E. Institute can deepen and widen your academic and social experience at The University of Toledo. You will have access to enriching opportunities both on and off campus. Through the M.O.R.E. Institute you can make the vital connections that will lead you to graduation and a successful career.

Benefits for attending The M.O.R.E. Institute

  • Students are able to move-in to their assigned residence hall early without any additional charges
  • Students and parents/guardians are able to become acclimated early to the institution
