Basic Life Support and First Aid

Basic Life Support Full Course Schedule

Designed for individuals with a duty to respond to emergencies. This program combines discussions, video, and hands-on training. Real-life rescue scenarios reinforce decision-making skills. This course covers how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

Certification

  • Two-year Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Certifications

Prerequisites/Requirements:

  • No Prerequisites
  • Must attend and fully participate in the entire class
  • Must pass all skill checks and receive an 80% or higher on written exam

Class Length: training is approximately 7 hours

Cost:
$90 REC Members
$100 for Non-Members
 - NOTE: Participants who fail a certification class will not receive a credit or a refund.

Basic Life support and First Aid Review

Basic Life Support Review Course Schedule

The purpose of a Basic Life Support and First Aid Review course is to give individuals the opportunity to review the course content within a formal course setting. The review course format optimizes a participant's ability to successfully complete the knowledge and skills evaluations. The Basic Life Support and First Aid Review course can be taken by anyone with a current and valid Basic Life Support and First Aid certification who wants to renew their certificates. Book and resuscitation mask will be provided to borrow during class.
 

Certification

Prerequisites/Requirements: 

  • Participants must have current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid

Class Length: training is approximately 4 hours

$85 for REC Members
$95 for Non-Members

First Aid Full Only Course

Designed for individuals with a duty to respond to first aid emergencies. This program combines discussions, video, and hands-on training. Real-life rescue scenarios reinforce decision-making skills. This course covers how to respond to first aid emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

Cost: 
$25 for UT Students, REC Members
$30 for Non-Members
